Organic Services at the World Cocoa Conference

Group Integrity discussed at the leading event for the global cocoa sector

The World Cocoa Conference is now established as the leading event for the global cocoa sector, bringing together the major players from the value chain, from all over the world. Over 1500 participants attended the conference, drawn from government agencies, chocolate manufacturers, trading companies, cocoa processors, companies involved in trade logistics, finance and insurance as well as suppliers of agricultural inputs and processing technology.

Just like in our first attendance at the previous Cacao Conference in the Dominican Republic, Organic Services showcased Group Integrity, this time, Berlin was the venue. Our representative, Javier Montañez kept active, informing participants working directly with cocoa producers and cocoa cooperatives of the importance of counting with an effective tool to facilitate the certification process.

Events of his type offer the opportunity to share among participants their achievements and services as well as their concerns and thoughts regarding what the sector may face in the coming years. Deforestation and low cocoa prices in the market were the most highlighted challenges. Mr. Jean-Marc Anga, Executive Director at the International Cocoa Organization highlighted -among other suggestions- the importance of all cocoa producing countries taking an inventory of their cocoa resources.

Our presence on this event reinforced our conviction that Group Integrity can contribute, if not in all, but in many inventory-related challenges that this sector is currently facing.
